| The
digital measuring principle The pendulum,
suspended by the Archimedes helical spring, is mounted between two electrodes. Depending
on the inclined position of the system, the pendulum will swing out of the zero-position
and by that, changing the capacity between the pendulum and the two electrodes. These
capacities will be transformed into different frequencies through the RC-oscillator. The
ratio of the two frequencies available will be used as the primary signal for detecting
the required angle. (The system is patent protected in most countries)

The requirements put on a
inclination measuring instrument or sensor are such that it is desired to use the
instrument in all kinds of climatic conditions. Shocks and vibrations should do no harm,
the precision is expected during long periods of time with possibly no maintenance at all,
and the measuring range should also be as large as possible. Also, the size of the unit is
expected to be quite small and the warm-up time should be nil and, last but not least, the
power consumption should be very small. The units should have excellent long term
stability, especially for the planned monitoring processes. Besides that, the temperature
sensitivity is expected to be compensated and the faultless transmission of data is
required over long distances. |
| Based on the existing know how and
good awareness of the users needs, WYLER AG has developed a new generation of precision
measuring instruments and -systems. The new "ZEROTRONIC" product family fulfills
the highest requirements concerning accuracy, sensitivity and temperature stability. The
use of digital technology allows the transmission of signals over long distances without
loss of accuracy. With the introduction of dynamic
measurements, respectively the measurement of an inclination on an unstable objects and/or
surfaces, a completely new field of possibilities was opened by the new ZEROTRONIC family.
With the newly developed electronics and the use of powerful software, it is quite often
possible to measure the acceleration implied on the sensors pendulum and separate
this factor from the signal in order to receive the true angle only, despite the unwanted
influence of the acceleration. |
| The DYNAM software was developed
for calculating and displaying static and dynamic inclinations and profiles under
MICROSOFT WINDOWS. The DYNAM software is part of the components of the digitized
"ZEROTRONIC" family developed by WYLER AG . The software DYNAM is a part of the
new digital instruments family ZEROTRONIC. All the different parameters like e.g.
sampling time, filter types as well as the graphic display set up on the monitor can
easily be adjusted by applying the PANEL to the
individual measuring requirements.
The ZEROTRONIC-Sensor is a high precision fully digital
sensor. The sensors can be used in combination with the Measuring software DYNAM for
highly complex tasks or together with the handheld LEVELMETER 2000.The modular concept
allows a great variety of applications
like e.g.:
- Inclination measurement on unstable objects and/or surfaces
- Long time monitoring of various objects (machines, buildings
etc.) with data collection and data transfer.
- Inclination measurement during movement

Measuring
technique:
Digital measuring technology; The pendulum, suspended by the Archimedes helical spring, is
mounted between two electrodes. Depending on the inclined position of the system, the
pendulum will swing out of the zero-position and by that, changing the capacity between
the pendulum and the two electrodes. These capacities will be transformed into different
frequencies through the RC-oscillator. The ratio of the two frequencies available will be
used as the primary signal for detecting the required angle.
Features:
Suitable for fixed installation on static and mobile objects. Compact design, sturdy, not
sensitive to magnetic field.
Connected to IBM compatible PC or Laptop running the software DYNAM via bus system
RS485/RS232, or directly to the LEVELMETER 2000. The sensors may be temperature calibrated
in a range to be defined. |
